Black Powder

  • Fa Granulations Available are:
    • 1Fa = 8-4 mm
    • 2Fa = 4.75-1.7 mm
    • 3Fa = 2.0-1.18 mm
    • 4Fa = 1.7-0.85 mm
    • 7Fa = 0.420-0.149 mm
    • Meal D = 0.42 mm
  • Fg Sporting Granulations Available are:
    • 1Fg = 1.2-1.6 mm, used in cannons, shotguns, and muskets
    • 2Fg = 0.65-1.2 mm, used in .45 caliber rifles and greater
    • 3Fg = 0.5-0.8 mm, used in .45 caliber rifles and smaller, pistols
    • 4Fg = 0.25-0.5 mm, used as flintlock priming powder only
  • Any individual or company purchasing any amount of black powder for use in fireworks must possess an ATF License.

  • An individual may purchase up to 50 lb without an ATF License if the intended use of the black powder is solely for sporting, recreational or cultural purposes in antique firearms or in antique devices. What does this mean?  For a full explanation, download the "Letter from ATF on black powder sales"

    We require a statement of intended use certifying that the individual qualifies for the sporting, recreational or cultural purposes in antique firearms or in antique devices ATF exemption. Download the "Statement of intended use of black powder"

  • Pick-up or Shipping by Special Delivery Only.
    Due to the bulk case packaging, UPS or FedEx will not carry black powder at this time.

    What is "Special Delivery"?  You hire one of our hazmat drivers to deliver your order to you. The cost varies from $1-$4 per mile from our Michigan warehouse.

  • Volume Discount on 1Fa, 2Fa, 3Fa, 4Fa & 7Fa : 200 lbs or more save $.50/lb ($25/case)
